Sharing Professionally: Expression of Interest

Share your lived experience with confidence and purpose. Expressions of Interest - Now Open!

Description

This course is for:

Individuals with lived experience who wish to share their stories in professional settings for the purposes of advocacy or training.

What you’ll learn:

When you share your lived experience in professional settings, you have the power to influence attitudes, reduce stigma, and create meaningful change. Turn your lived experience into an ethical and impactful public presentation with our new short course.

Designed for people with lived experience, by people with Lived Experience, this workshop series will support you to refine your narrative, build presentation skills, and develop robust self-care strategies for before, during and after professional speaking events.

The workshops take an ethical and strengths-based approach to storytelling, and groups are limited to ten participants only to create a safe environment where personalised support can be made available.

Some participants may be invited to join WAAMH’s Lived Experience Speaker Program and share their presentations at relevant training and events, to provide a real-life perspective to attendees.

Across the workshops, you’ll develop:

  • An authentic, polished lived experience presentation that can be adapted to different audiences.
  • Increased confidence and self-care strategies for public speaking.
  • Understanding of emotional safety – so sharing doesn’t come at the cost of your well-being.

Course Format

  • 2 × 4-hour interactive workshops, 9am - 1pm
  • 1 × 4-hour presentation day, 9am - 1pm
  • Limited to 10 participants for personalised support
